Carbon ETCs
Exchange Traded Commodities (ETCs) are exchange-traded clean bonds with an unlimited contract period. Thus, investors participate directly in the price development of commodities.
As the operating institution of greenmarket and the Stock Exchange, Bayerische Boerse AG offers commodity trading in carbon certificates on greenmarket as well as securities trading in carbon ETCs at Munich Stock Exchange.
In the past, only energy companies, industrial enterprises, traders and financial institutions were able to benefit from the opportunities of emission trading. Since July 2010, private investors have been able to purchase these commodities and trade directly in carbon ETCs on Munich Stock Exchange (Boerse Muenchen), representing a unique exchange opportunity for German investment. The security number A0ZZGA on Munich Stock Exchange denotes the only German stock market listing of a carbon ETC.
The ETC is issued by ETF Securities and physically deposited with EUA certificates by Shell. It directly reflects the EUA price.
