Removal Units (RMU)

A Kyoto Protocol unit equal to 1 metric tonne of carbon dioxide equivalent. RMU are generated in Annex B Parties by LULUCF activities that absorb carbon dioxide. Annex B Parties can use RMU to help meet their Kyoto Protocol commitments.
