Opt-in

In period 2005-2007, the EU member states had the opportunity to include (opt-in) installations that fell below the capacity limits of the operations listed in Annex I of the EU Emissions Trading Directive. Since 2008, the EU member states have also had the chance to include operations, installations and greenhouse gases  that are not listed in Annex I of the EU Directive.
