Clean Spark Spread

The margin that a gas-fired power plant gains with given gas prices. It therefore refers to the price difference between gas and power. Clean Spark Spread also considers CO2 costs. Since the start of the EU emissions trading scheme in 2005, the Clean Spark Spread has been more relevant than the Dark Spread. See also Clean Dark Spread.
