Bayerische Boerse AG is the  private-law operator of greenmarket, the commodity exchange under public law. Greenmarket is the marketplace for emissions trading.

Thus the market is subject to the rules and the supervision of the Bavarian Ministry of State, Infrastructure, Traffic and Technology (Börsenaufsichtsbehörde) as well as the Banking and Insurance Supervision (Bafin).

Greenmarket is an exchange-regulated market place with the MIC-Code GMEX.
